Title: The Necessity of Believing!

Text: James 1:6-8

Exhorter: Sister Nancy D. Macatbag

“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – James 1:6

When we say necessity, it means it is a requirement or essential. Just like a profession such as a carpenter who needs meter measurement and hammer for him to be able to do his job well. Likewise, as a Christian, follower, and servant of the Lord in the ministry He has entrusted in us, here are some of the reasons why there are necessities of believing in God.

Believe in what He said in His word. In Isaiah 55:11, our God desires is that people will come to Him and be restored back into His grace and favor. He longs to bestow His righteous blessings upon His people, (obedient followers and servants of the Lord especially, those who are not yet in His presence). Our prayers have their own timetable. God knows everything we are experiencing now, and everything we will experience in the future. He knows how to deal with every situation to give us the best possible results, and we have to trust him to do that. We have to follow his path and believe that He knows best because He knows.

Believe in His Character. In Numbers 23:19, He never lies and He never fulfills what He had promised. In Hebrews 6:18, it says it is not possible for God to lie, everything is true in God.

Believe in what He does. In Jeremiah 32:27, it says that He is the God of all mankind and there is nothing that is hard for Him. He can do everything that we desire as long as there is faith in Him. The Book of Job, states how God created the earth and how He positioned the earth in the universe. Truly indeed God is an amazing and powerful God that He can do anything He desires that there is NOTHING too hard for Him to do and that He can make too many amazing things.

Believe that He desires to do good things to His children. In Romans 8:28, the promise that God will work "in all" for our benefit is encouraging. That means that God has only two requirements for everything to work together for our benefit, regardless of the circumstances. First, He works for “the good of those who love Him.” If you love God, you can trust that He is working for your good. He loves you back, and when we love people, we seek their well-being as well. Second, He works for “those who are called according to His purpose.” Do you realize that following God involves submitting to His purpose for you? You have been called by Him for a purpose that He holds for your life.

Having trust is having Faith. You have to trust with all your heart that God is at your back that He will not leave you and He will take care of you. He knows what is best for you, but to truly hold what He has planned for you, you have to fully trust in His ways and in His power. Our trust is not foolish, for our God is both faithful and good. Always read and meditate on the word of God (Bible). Familiarize yourself with the promises of God. Get to know the character of God and your joy and willingness to trust in Him will overflow.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” – Proverbs 3:5-6

God knows exactly what He wants for your life. He has a purpose for you and has everything planned out. He knows what you are going to do tomorrow, next month, and years down the road. Do not doubt His plan, because He knows all and He has a perfect plan for each and every one.

Philippians 4:16, says “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”. Our Calling for God's purpose also reminds us of what "our good" really is. It is not our comfort or worldly success. It is to advance his purpose through us.

God bless His words, His chosen messenger through the life of Sister Nancy D. Macatbag and Pastora Nelma D. Manuel for her supplications to the teaching, the readers, listeners, and doers of His words.
